Sales Associate (FlowMetric Europe)
Reports to: VP, Global Sales & Marketing (FlowMetric, Inc.)
Basic Purpose and Objective: The Sales & Marketing Director for FlowMetric Europe is responsible for revenue and profit growth of the overall business in Europe, working alongside the VP, Global Sales & Marketing, who is located in the US. This position will also ensure business growth through directing and managing business development activities with the VP to ensure these are delivered in accordance with the organizational strategy set forth by the CEO.
Responsible for helping develop, along with the Global VP, FlowMetric’s European sales and marketing long-term growth strategy. Additionally, the Director would be responsible to create and execute against FlowMetric Europe’s annual business plans outlining initiatives, activities, and metrics in order to achieve the annual budget.
Responsible for identification and establishment of potential clients in the biotechnical, pharmaceutical and academic arenas. Cultivating “leads” identified through the website using SalesForce CRM system.
Establish and maintain communications with existing and potential clients, including F2F meetings throughout the European market (with travel included).
Responsible for the preparation of marketing material for vendor exhibitions and professional conferences for European conferences.
Attend appropriate scientific meetings to maintain technical competency and promote awareness of the FlowMetric Brand.
Document meeting minutes, emails, and phone conversations summarizing “who, what, where, how and when” of each meeting and enters key activities into our SalesForce CRM system.
Work with Global VP to report all sales & marketing activities in the pipeline, including pre-sales activities, quote preparations, response to tenders, presentations and contract negotiation – these reports can be used for tracking and also Board Meeting updates.
Performs any other duties as required or assigned.
The office and lab for FlowMetric Europe is located in Bresso, Italy (just outside of Milan). However, the potential candidate can live anywhere within Europe as there is an expectation of travel to see existing and potential customers as well as attend relevant trade conferences.
Education and Related Experience Requirements: Bachelor or Masters of Science of Arts degree in a scientifically related discipline with at least 5 years of prior industry experience in immunology or hands on Flow Cytometry Skills. Experience in a professional sales/business development position or an MBA is preferred. Ability to contribute to setting and achieving sales goals. Highly effective in building and maintaining customer relationships. Outstanding communication skills (including email, PowerPoint/presentation development, and facilitation/meeting management) with ability to communicate at all levels. Ability to manage through change and work in an innovative, fast-paced environment. Detail oriented while able to manage multiple products simultaneously, and strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach are key skill sets. Bi-lingual language skills are preferred. A strong network with connections in the European Pharmaceutical and Biotech industry is required.
